Preliminary investigations, according to the FRSC, suggest that overspeeding and poor visibility were the major causes of the accident.

Evangelist Ayodeji David, fondly called Kekere Jesu, was known for his dynamic approach to street evangelism, passionate preaching, and active presence on social media. He was reportedly en route to a ministry assignment when the crash occurred.

He has since been buried.
