Family members, friends, and well-wishers have commemorated the third anniversary of the passing of Late Pa Olusegun Ojetunji Adeleye-Oke, popularly known as “Okhlahoma,” celebrating a life marked by service, leadership, and dedication to humanity.
Pa Adeleye-Oke passed away on June 25, 2023, at the age of 83 and was laid to rest on November 10, 2023, in Awe, Oyo State.
Three years after his demise, memories of his impactful life continue to resonate among those who knew him. Family members described him as a devoted community leader, mentor, and elder statesman whose contributions to the development of Awe and the well-being of countless individuals remain unforgettable.
According to the family, Pa Adeleye-Oke’s legacy is reflected in the values of integrity, hard work, compassion, and selfless service that he instilled in his children and members of the community.
Speaking during the remembrance, one of his sons, Mr. Gbenga Adeleye, described his late father as a loving and responsible parent whose life was devoted to the progress of his family and society.
“My father was a man of honour, discipline, and wisdom. He was always ready to support others and provide guidance whenever needed. Though we miss him greatly, we remain grateful for the values he imparted to us and the positive impact he made on many lives,” he said.
Family members noted that although Pa Adeleye-Oke is no longer physically present, his enduring legacy continues to inspire them and many others who benefited from his counsel, generosity, and leadership.
They offered prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul and expressed their commitment to preserving the ideals and principles for which he was known.
As family, friends, and associates reflect on his life three years after his passing, they remain united in celebrating the memory of a man whose influence transcended generations and whose contributions continue to be felt within Awe community and beyond.
