SAO Petroleum has expressed deep appreciation to the Oyo State Government, security agencies, corporate partners, customers and members of the public for their swift support following a fire outbreak at one of its retail outlets in Jericho, Ibadan.

The fire incident, which occurred on Sunday, January 25, 2026, led to material losses but, according to the company, no life was lost.
In a statement issued on behalf of the management and staff of SAO Petroleum, the Managing Director, Mr. Adewumi Oladiti, commended the prompt intervention of the Oyo State Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Amotekun Security Network, whose collective efforts helped to contain the fire and prevent further damage.

The company also appreciated the Oyo State Government, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), corporate partners including SweetCo and Zartec, as well as customers and good samaritans who rallied around the company during the challenging period.

“Though we are deeply saddened by the losses recorded, we are thankful that no lives were lost. This alone gives us strength and hope,” the statement read.
