EKITI State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has been urged to extend the dividends of democracy to the people of Orun Ekiti in Ise/Orun Local Government.
Prince Adewumi Adefemi Samuel, a former State House of Assembly aspirant, in his goodwill message during the 2018 Orun-Ekiti Day celebration held today 3rd November, congratulated Dr. Fayemi, his deputy and all the appointees under his new leadership.
Recall that Fayemi, in a statement released recently, named Abiodun Oyebanji as Secretary to the State Government (SSG); Biodun Omoleye as Chief of Staff to the Governor, and Yinka Oyebode as Chief Press Secretary.
The heir to the Olowuro of Orun-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Zacchaeus Oluwatosin Aderounmu Adewumi (Omuyomade I), popularly known as PAAS said: “I’ll like to put it on record and emphasy that Orun Ekiti in Ise/Orun Local Government, a two-town Local Government, has not enjoyed the dividends of democracy both in appointments and infrastructural development.”
He disclosed that the Ekiti State School of Midwifery that has been sited in Orun Ekiti and approved during the Segun Oni-led administration is yet to kick off.
“We have prominent sons and daughters with good ideas that aligns with JKFs vision and can help him restore integrity and good governance to our dear land. Hence, Governor Fayemi needs to look, not just within his political sphere, but even outwardly to credible hands, irrespective of political neutrality or affiliation, as long as the school of thought is in sync.
“There are several appointments that are Local Government and Constituency (Senatorial/Federal/State) specific. We have commissioner, Special Assistant, Special Adviser, Chairman of Boards, Local Government Chairman and Secretary, among others. Some of these should be given to Orun Ekiti in consensus,” Prince Adewumi said.
The approval or disapproval of others should not be the focus of a serene and confident mother.
These things are quite versatile, portable, affordable and
practical. I learned an important lesson on that day from a mild teacher.
