Both internal and external factors in the peoples Democratic party at local, state and National level are now mounting serious pressure on the former governor of Oyo state Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala to return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
An impeccable source told our reporter that Akala’s return to the party will go a long way in reshaping and bring back a lot of people to the party at the state level and stand as a formidable opposition to Ajimobi led APC’s government.
It would be recalled that the Ogbomoso born politician left the party when his attempt to be the party flag bearer for 2015 gubernatorial election was frustrated by some elements in the party.
During the period, it was obvious that none of the aspirants in the PDP could match the political strength of the former governor but they did everything possible to prevent him to ease him out of the system just like they did to Engineer Seyi Makinde and others
As at the time of filling this report, an inside source told our reporter that some notable party stalwart in the state including the coordinator of the party Hon Muraina Ajibola have been lobbying the former governor to quit APC which he formally joined after he left the Labour Party where he had contested and lost the guber race
From investigation we also discovered that some of the political associates of the former governor are not also happy with the way they are being treated in the APC and want their leader to lead them out of the party as soon as possible in fact some of them are making moves to hasten their boss exit from APC
“ Some old political allied and friends are already coming to ogbomoso to win him back into PDP and what he told them is that he is studying the situation and will later get back to them, in fact they requested that he send some of his people for a meeting at the National Secretariat in Abuja for meeting with other stakeholders in the party .
