Pre Season Tourney, Not a Joke, Dimeji Lawal Tells 3sc Players

Team Manager of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan Dimeji Lawal, has urged the players of the club to take seriously,, the maiden edition of the Dapo Abiodun Pre-season tournament, billed for Ijebu-Ode.

The Ibadan soccer lords are among notable NPFL and NNL clubs, expected to participate in the tournament, scheduled to hold from September 24 to 29, 2019.

Addressing the players after Tuesday’s training at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Kabongo as the ex international is fondly called, charged the players to brace up for a competitive contest, with a view to putting up a good performance at the tourney.

“You might say the tournament is just a pre season competition, yes, you are right but I want you to know that back home, all they want is good result.

“Besides, pre-season is meant to determine many factors, including the readiness of a team as well as that of the players”, said the former Super Eagles winger.

Meanwhile, the Oluyole Warriors, landed in Ijebu-Ode on Tuesday night ahead of the commencement of the competition.

34 players made the trip to the tourney which the coach Edith Agoye led technical crew will use to assess the team in readiness for the incoming 2019/20 season of the Nigeria National League (NNL).
