Police  Recovers Seven Stolen Toyota Cars From Inter-State Robbers, Parades Four Suspects in Ibadan

Oyo State Police Command has recovered seven Toyota Vehicles Inter-state criminal syndicate specialized in stealing and snatching of cars from their owners at gun pont

Also four suspected members of the syndicate have been arrested by the police

The command’s Public Relations Officer SP Adewale Osifeso in a statement gave the names of the suspect as
Nafiu Bashiru,Azeez Fatai, Lawal Aruna, and Abdulwasiu Amzat.

According to Osifeso,two members of an Inter-state criminal syndicate went to LEKAN SALAMI Stadium, ADAMASINGBA area, Ibadan to remove a Toyota Camry Car with registration number LSD EX from where it was parked by its rightful owner, one AFOLARIN JOHN OLUWALEKE ‘M’.

The incident was reported at MOKOLA Division, Ibadan and also at the Command Monitoring Unit, Ibadan for investigation.

“Sequel to this complaint, a team of Police Operatives attached to the Command Monitoring Unit embarked on a discreet investigation and manhunt for members of the suspected criminal gang and in the process on 11th June, 2023, (2) Two criminal kingpins later identified as NAFIU BASHIRU ‘M’ and AZEEZ FATAI ‘M’ were arrested in connection with the crime while moving the stolen car to the Northern part of Nigeria.

“The stolen Toyota Camry vehicle was recovered from the suspects and upon interrogations, the duo voluntarily confessed to having masterminded the crime and series of other same criminal activities in different parts of Oyo State.

He added that ‘The confessions made by the suspects and further discreet investigation later led to the arrest of two other syndicate criminal receivers in Kaduna State Identified as LAWAL ARUNA and ABDULWASIU AMZAT.”

Six additional Toyota Camry Cars, all of which the suspects confessed to having either snatched from their owners or were removed from where they were parked were recovered
