Police Recovers, Guns, Knife, Live Catridgdes From LAUTECH Student, Others

Police in Oyo state on Thursday said 2 locally made pistols, 4 live cartridges, 1 Jack knife and 1 cutlass were recovered from Araoye Adeniyi, a 25 years old student of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Ogbomoso suspected to be one of the people terrorizing students of LAUTECH and Ogbomoso residents.

Adeniyi who claimed to be a student of Accounting department of the institution has been been on the wanted list of the police.

While been pressed by the Newsmen, Araoye Adeniyi accepted the fact that he is guilty of the offence he was arrested for. He added that he was initiated to the secret eiye confraternity by his area brother.

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, SP Shina Olukolu while parading this case and others noted that since weeks ago, the police command have been able to arrests suspects involved in Arm robbery, Peace disruption, Stealing, Hoodlums, and Cultism with the help of strategic positioning of the Operation Puff Harder, SARS, Swift Response Squad (SRS), Skynets Squad and Federal and Safer Highway Patrol Teams.

Olukolu while announcing a new development revealed that, new sets of Policemen have been deployed to the Oyo state police with the assistance of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone XI, AIG Leye Oyebade and they have been redeployed to Ibarapa and Ogbomosho axis to strengthen the rate of security in those towns and community.

He express his gratitude to the entire citizenry of Oyo state for their continue support and collaboration with the police force to ensure adequate security in all nooks and crannies of the state.

He further enjoin them to cooperate with the police with genuine information and update without any fear or favour as the police will be “24/7” available to attend to any information from the masses.

Olukolu however made mention that as Oyo state has been relatively peaceful, he have gotten some information of threats from route and members of the NURTW and boys that are parading motor parks in the state, he clarifies that there is no union controlling the affairs of the association for now,

He stresses that anybody been caught disturbing and disrupting the peace of Oyo state will face the wrath of the law.
