The Oyo State Board of Internal Revenue has announced plans to seal hotels, restaurants, apartments, and other hospitality businesses that fail to meet their tax obligations by February 13, 2025.
The board chairman Oluremi Awakan who disclosed this to journalist warned that that affected businesses must settle various taxes and levies, including Personal Income Tax, Land Use Charge, Withholding Tax, Stamp Duty, Capital Gains Tax, and other statutory fees.
The enforcement drive aims to ensure compliance with tax laws and boost state revenue. Business owners are urged to clear outstanding payments before the deadline to avoid disruptions.
The board also advised unregistered businesses to register for tax immediately.
