The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has elected new state executives at its congress held on Monday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan. The exercise, which produced 39 officers, was conducted peacefully and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and other relevant authorities.
Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro emerged as the State Chairman, while Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke was elected Deputy Chairman. Other elected officers include Oyelami Oyeyemi (State Secretary), Olawumi Elizabeth Toyin (Women Leader), and Bello Kazeem Olalekan (Youth Leader), among others.
The newly elected executives are expected to steer the affairs of the party in the state, strengthen internal democracy, and work towards consolidating the PDP’s chances in future elections, particularly the 2027 general polls.
