Oyo CP Warns Residents Against Street Carnivals, Usage Of Fireworks, Bangers During Festive Season

The Oyo state Commissioner of Police, CP. Shina Olukolu has warn the entire citizenry of Oyo state to shun the usage of Fireworks, Bangers and other Explosive during the ongoing yuletide and festival season.

Olukolu who made this known while addressing newsmen at a press briefing on Friday, added that unauthorized street carnivals within the state will not be tolerated.

He further noted that the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Oyo state remained unrecognized and proscribed.

” Whoever attempts to disturb the peace and tranquility being enjoyed by the peace loving people of Oyo state under the guise of being an NURTW member will be apprehended and decisively dealt with according to the law”.

He however assure the members of the public of the preparedness of the command towards protecting the lives and property of the masses before during and after the yuletide period.

He also enjoined them to cultivate the habit of making use of the two emergency control room numbers (07055495413, 08081768614) and the Toll free number “615” in case of any distress.

The Commissioner of Police after this address paraded 20 criminal suspects that borders around the 9 cases including Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Rapist/Murder, Impersonation and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
