In a move to drive economic growth and development, Oyo state commissioner for information, Prince Dotun Oyelade at the weekend unveiled a comprehensive plan to attract investors, particularly those in the diaspora.

Prince Dotun Oyelade, while addressing the annual General conference of Ogbomoso Sons and Daughter in North America (OSDNA) in Atlanta said the administration’s focus on the agricultural sector and the creation of robust infrastructure have positioned Oyo State as a prime destination for investors seeking to tap into the state’s vast potential.

Prince Oyelade added that one of the key initiatives is the strategic investment in road infrastructure, linking all the economic zones within the state. This includes the completion of the 65km Ibadan/Iseyin road, the 38km Oyo, Fasola/Iseyin road, and the ongoing 48km Ido-Eruwa road, among others. These interconnected roads are designed to facilitate the seamless movement of agricultural goods and enable the full utilization of the state’s bountiful farmlands.

He maintained that the state government has established the Fasola Industrial Estate, which boasts of comprehensive amenities, including fencing, drone surveillance, tarred roads, tennis courts, housing facilities for investors, and a crèche for children. The estate is strategically positioned to provide investors with easy access to raw materials and a conducive environment for agro-processing activities, such as the processing of Shea butter, cashew, and mango from the Ogbomoso area, as well as cassava processing and the establishment of a vegetative and generative seed system.
