The Iseyin/ Fapote/ ogbomoso expressway has been shut to heavy duty trucks and trailers.

This decision was taken to protect the newly commissioned road from trailers that divert from the federal government Ibadan/oyo/ ogbomoso Road which is yet to be completed after several years.

In a statement, the commissioner for information Prince Dotun Oyelade said that the ministry of Public works had to quickly move in and block the road for heavy duty vehicles because the expressway was designed for lighter vehicles like cars and buses and not Trailers.

According to the state Commissioner for public works Prof Dawoud Sangodoyin, ‘This road was designed primarily to link the state agrarian transportation, traders and intercity commuters all targeting the development of oyo state economy.
