All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyo State chapter, has expressed its appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for appointing one of its members, Dr Abisoye Fagade, as the new Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR).
The party expressed its delight at the decision of the president, describing the appointment as an indication that the president was poised to impart positively on all sectors of the national economy.
President Tinubu, on Thursday, announced the Ibadan-born marketing communication expert and businessman as one of the four key appointments made to ensure quicker realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current APC administration.
Oyo APC, in a statement issued in Ibadan by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, stated that the appointment of Fagade came at the right time.
It described Fagade as loyal party member who did his best to ensure victory for the party and President Tinubu in the 2023 elections.
The party stated that the appointment was the needed testament to the fact that President Tinubu was aware of the iconic roles played by many individual members of the party in his electoral success in 2023, while he would not abandon everyone in the party as the administration stabilized.
“Fagade was one of the heroes of the last general election as he gave his all to all the candidates of the APC, including President Tinubu. He mobilised heavily with his personal resources without looking back, even when help seemed not to be coming from where it was expected.
“Fagade even sacrificed his own political ambition to ensure that the APC succeeded and he remained steadfast throughout.
“As a versatile patriot, well traveled businessman and cerebral technocrat with prerequisite wherewithal to turn things around anywhere, we are upbeat about his capability to transform the nation’s hospitality and tourism sector in no time.
“His midas torch would assist the cause of diversification of the economy of the country as desired by well meaning and informed citizens.”
