No fewer than 1000 members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have dumped their parties for the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP in Akoko Northwest and Northeast council areas of Ondo state.
The defectors from the two council areas akoko  were led by SDP Chieftains including Ayo Oluwafemi and Abiola Ogunmodede and received by former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo and former Chief Judge of Ondo state, Justice Olasehinde Kumuyi.
Speaking on behalf of other defectors, Oluwafemi and Ogunmodede said they decided to join the ZLP because of its rich ideological background, social democratic standard and unmatched achievements of its Presidential candidate, Dr Olusegun Mimiko when he was Ondo state governor.
The former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Oluboyo and former Chief Judge, Justice  Kumuyi, assured the defectors of equal opportunities in the party.
They urged them to work assiduously for its success  in the 2019 elections.
