Otunba Babatunde Adesokan was on Thursday re-elected as the Vice President, Western Zone, of National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies NANTA
Other elected zonal officers includes: Temitope Ogunsebikan – Zonal (General Secretary),Alhaji Tijani Abdulroqeeb- Zonal Internal Auditor, Mr. Seyi Lateef Abas – Zonal Treasurer,Mr. Obasa Oyebola- Zonal Public Relations Officer and Dr. Femi Adegbola Zonal Financial Secretary.
Adesokan a travel expert and Chief Executive Officer of Caprisok Travels and Tour Services election was unopposed just like other members of the executives.
Speaking with journalists after the inauguration at Alado of Ado Awaye Hall, National Museum, Ibadan, Oyo state, Adesokan said he is poised to improve on his past achievements and ensure members enjoy more benefits from his administration.
” He also listed laying the building foundation of a permanent secretariat for the zone before the end of his 2nd term as a major priority of his administration ”
” We are also working to ensure all practitioners in the states from this zones are involved, have started the move by ensuring all states havd representatives in the executives and will continue we are not going to allow quackery and fraudsters to take over travel industry, whoever is practicing must not just be a professional but must be known and registered with NANTA and we would ensure they enjoy the benefits of being a professional and registered members.
” On the national election, Adesokan said the current National Treasurer Dr Tokunbo Dagunduro has been supported by the zone to contest for the 2nd National Deputy President position come April 2024 at the Annual General meeting in lagos.”
The National President of the association Mrs Susan in her remark congratulated Adesokan and his team for the successful completion of his first term and urge them to ensure members enjoy benefits of belonging to NANTA.
She added that the new executives should be transparent, accountable and operate with an open mind.
Two presidential candidates for the National Association Mr. Yinka Folami and Mr Daisi Olotu also used the avenue to market their ambition to the members and pledge to take NANTA to a better height.
