The Osun State House of Assembly has constituted an ad-hoc committee to inspect the ongoing reconstruction of the Osogbo-Iwo road.
It would be recalled that on October 28th, 2022 the Gboyega Oyetola-led administration awarded the re-construction of the Osogbo-Iwo road to Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd for a period of 18 months.
Dissatisfied with the low pace of work on the road after 9 months, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun summoned the Managing Director of Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works to plenary to make clarifications.
The duo honoured the invitations and appeared before plenary today, Tuesday 25th July, 2023. Consequent upon questioning from the Honourable members of the House, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, constituted an Ad-hoc committee to conduct an oversight assignment on the road.
The committee is chaired by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Akinyode Oyewusi. Other members of the Committee are Hon (Engr.) Abiola Jeremiah Awoyeye (Ife Central State Constituency), Hon. Lawrence Olalekan Adeoti (Ife South State Constituency), Hon. Abiola Waheed Ibrahim (Irewole/Isokan State Constituency), Hon. Barrister Taofiq Olayiwola (Ede South State Constituency) and Hon. Adekunle Emmanuel Oladimeji (Irepodun/Orolu State Constituency).
The committee is expected to inspect the site from the Osogbo end to the Iwo end for a thorough assessment of the work done so far and report back to the House.
