Oluyole PDP Chairman Inaugurates New Party Excos

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole Local Government, Alhaji Nasiru Hamzat has inaugurated the party executives and chairmen across the 10 wards in the council.

 

Names of the ten ward chairmen include, Saka Adebayo, ward 1; Olupitan Dele Fatai, ward 2; Moses Ojo ward 3, Kazeem Okunola Ward 4; Ibukun Kolawole ward 5; Anwo Sikiru ward 6; Raji Mojeed ward 7, Nuru Adebola Ward 8, Muideen Adebayo ward 9, Wasiu Olasupo ward 10.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the party office located at Idi-ayunre on Friday.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of party bigwigs including the overall PDP leader in the local government, Prince Lasun Salami, Dr. Gbola Adetunji, the state Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Hon. Mojeed Mogbojubola, member, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo and Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Olumide Akinlade, former Oyo assembly Lawmaker, Lukman Salau, as well as present and immediate past chairmen, Engr. Akeem Olatunji and Hon. Olaide Settle Popoola.

Others include Hon. Seye Awopegbe, Hon. Shittu Adams, Hon John Ogunsola and Hon. Wasiu Arewa, who is the newly inaugurated party’s Vice Chairman.

Addressing the party faithful at the meeting, the PDP overall leader in Oluyole, Prince Lasun Salami, appreciated the state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the entire PDP family in the state for ensuring peaceful and smooth congresses in the state.

Prince Salami, while charging the newly inaugurated local government executive and chairmen across 10 wards in the council, emphasized that PDP remains the only political party whose tentacles spread across the country. He assured that the party will take over the country’s affairs come 2027.

He admonished the party chairman in Oluyole Local Government and other executive members to work in line with members’ expectation, which he said is to win elective positions in the local government come 2027 general elections.

PDP Chairman in Oluyole Local Government, Alhaji Nasiru Hamzat, in his address, also commended the governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, Otunba Seye Famojuro and the state executives led by Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro and Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke for their commitment to the progress of the party in the state.

He disclosed that part of his agenda is to restore peace and unity to the party by engaging all aggrieved and bringing them back into fold for the progress of the party.

Alhaji Hamzat said that the mandate has been given to the chairmen to inaugurate their executives at ward level to ensure that all structures are in place to carry out the assignment given to them.

“There is no faction in Oluyole PDP, we will engage all aggrieved to restore unity and love for the party and make sure we all become one and we will work together with other stakeholders to achieve our goals. My appeal to all members is to give us the necessary support to deliver on our mandate.”

In his vote of thanks, Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Hon. Mojeed Mogbonjubola, thanked the party faithful for supporting the party so far. He expressed belief that with support of all stakeholders, the Chairman and other newly inaugurated executive members will deliver.

Mogbonjubola, who is the arrowhead of the party in Oluyole Local Government, appreciated the governor and the leadership at the state level, assuring them that the structure put in place in the local government will work in line with principles and guidelines established by the state.

While reiterating his commitment to the promotion of peace, love and unity within the party, the Commissioner appealed to those feeling aggrieved to join hands with other stakeholders to make PDP in Oluyole a good example to others.
