The Executive Chairman of Oyo West Local Government, Prince Salami Babatunde Akeem, popularly known as Olukitibi, has inspected the ongoing construction of the Ladindin–Ojongbodu–Isheke Road, expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the project.
Prince Salami, accompanied by members of the local government management team, political office holders and party loyalists, conducted the inspection on Thursday as part of efforts to monitor the execution of the asphaltic tarring and pavement project.
Speaking during the visit, the council chairman commended Governor Seyi Makinde for approving and facilitating the strategic road project through the local government, describing it as another demonstration of the governor’s commitment to rural development, economic growth and improved road connectivity across Oyo State.
He said the road project would enhance transportation, boost commercial activities and improve the socio-economic wellbeing of residents in the affected communities.
Prince Salami also appreciated former Senator Monsurat Sunmonu for her continued support, guidance and commitment to the development of Oyo West Local Government. He described her as a dependable leader whose encouragement has continued to inspire the administration.
The chairman expressed satisfaction with the standard of work being carried out by the contractor, commending the professionalism and adherence to engineering specifications.
He, however, urged the contractor to sustain the momentum and ensure timely completion of the project without compromising quality.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to grassroots development, Prince Salami said the local government would continue to support initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents and accelerating socio-economic development across Oyo West.
Residents of the area, according to the chairman, have continued to express optimism over the developmental strides being recorded through the collaborative efforts of the Oyo State Government and the Oyo West Local Government administration.
