The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, has congratulated Basorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, on his 53rd birthday and recent appointment as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.
Akinwole, a close associate of Governor Seyi Makinde, was screened and confirmed last week by the Oyo State House of Assembly. He held a thanksgiving service on Sunday at the Methodist Church Nigeria Cathedral, Arowomole, Ogbomoso, in celebration of both milestones.
In a statement on Sunday, Oba Alao described Wolekanle as an omoluwabi and a committed grassroots mobilizer whose dedication to community and state development stands out.
“I rejoice with you, Basorun Akinwale Akinwole, on the occasions of your birthday and appointment as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission. This is a well-deserved appointment given your pedigree as an omoluwabi, a goal-getter and grassroots development enthusiast,” the statement read in part.
The monarch commended Governor Makinde for the appointment, describing Akinwole as a round peg in a round hole. He expressed confidence that Wolekanle would bring transformational leadership to the commission through worker-friendly policies and effective administration.
“As you attain a new age, I pray God to satisfy you with all that your heart desires. May He strengthen you to fulfill all your dreams,” Oba Alao added.
