The Director-General, Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture, Ambassador Wale Ojo Lanre has urged the youths to be part of the value restoration, cultural promotion and traditional heritage protection programmes of Governor John Kayode Fayemi.
Ambassador Ojo Lanre said this while rubbing minds with the leadership of Federation of Ekiti State Students’ Union, FESSU, who visited him in his office in Ado Ekiti.
He disclosed that one of the Council’s mandates is to rejuvenate, promote and support any idea that would enhance cultural creativity, job creation and add productive value to the people of the state
Ojo – Lanre called on the students’ body to gird their loins to embrace and join the value restoration vanguard of Governor Kayode Fayemi
He pointed out “You are the strength of the state. You are the future leaders on who the burden of whatever acts of good deeds or otherwise made today will fall upon tomorrow. Hence, you need to be aware and ensure your involvement in the development of the land especially in the value restoration agenda, cultural enhancement, promotion of local festivals and traditional events so as to ensure their preservation for your own generation and generations after you ”
Ambassador Ojo Lanre tasked the students’ body ” I expect you to come out with a solid plan and proposal that stimulate and engendering the enhancement of cultural activities and creativity among you, most of you are talented and culturally creative, you will be doing yourself and the state a lot of good by showcasing these and others to the world ”
Responding on behalf of Union, Comrade Alegbeleye Temitayo, President Federation of Ekiti State Students ‘ Union, EKSU chapter said ” I must confess that your activities since you came on board of the Council have been great sources of inspiration to many of us and we are very proud of you. We also wish to let you know that one of the reasons we are in your office is to tell you our readiness to form a synergy with your agency.’
Reinforcing this stand, Comrade Adewale Damilola, the Senate President of the Association said ” your words of encouragement have given us another clue and very soon we are coming back to present a working proposal detailing how we can collaborate with the Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture on value restoration and cultural promotion. ‘
