A socio-political group, Ogun Progressive People, Nigeria, alongside the Progressive People Diaspora Coalition for YAYI based in Canada, has declared total support for the governorship ambition of Solomon Olamilekan Adeola under the platform of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
The Convener of the groups, Olola Faith Daniel, described the emergence and endorsement of Senator Adeola as the consensus candidate of the party as a defining moment in the political history of Ogun State.
In a statement issued on behalf of the groups, Olola said the development represents a bold step toward strengthening democratic values, political balance, unity and inclusive governance across the state.
He stressed that inclusion, fairness and equity should remain central to every leadership agenda in a democratic society, adding that such principles align with the humanitarian vision of his charity organisation, Faith-In-Kindness Foundation, which promotes justice, empowerment and collective progress.
According to him, the decision to support Senator Adeola for the governorship position reflects political maturity, strategic foresight and a commitment to fairness in governance since the creation of Ogun State in 1976.
Olola also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as exceptional leadership, statesmanship and democratic influence across the country.
He noted that Tinubu’s leadership philosophy continues to inspire political stability, unity and progressive governance in Nigeria.
The group equally praised Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for his visionary leadership and administrative achievements, particularly for what it described as strategic integration of his successor for a seamless transition process.
According to Olola, Governor Abiodun has demonstrated political maturity, wisdom and commitment to continuity in governance and development.
He further applauded leaders, stakeholders, elders and members of the APC in Ogun State for supporting the emergence of a consensus candidate capable of moving the state forward.
Olola described the inclusion of Ogun West Senatorial District in the state’s executive leadership equation as a historic breakthrough and a “jinx breaker,” noting that it would promote long-awaited balance, equity and inclusiveness in Ogun politics.
He said the consensus around Senator Adeola’s candidacy symbolises unity of purpose and reflects the APC’s commitment to fairness, stability and sustainable development.
The group thereafter called on party members, youths, diaspora communities, traditional rulers and other stakeholders across the state to unite behind Senator Adeola in the interest of progress, continuity and prosperity for Ogun State.
Olola expressed optimism that Ogun State was entering a new era of inclusive governance, political harmony, economic advancement and equitable leadership that would positively impact future generations.
