The Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government, Hon. Oyeniyi Oyedokun Timothy (OOT), on Friday presented the 2026 budget estimate to the Legislative Council, reiterating his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustained grassroots development.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Oyeniyi expressed appreciation to the people of Ogbomoso South for their continued trust and support, noting that the new fiscal proposal was the outcome of wide consultations and thorough assessment of the council’s developmental needs.

The 2026 Appropriation Bill, christened “Budget of Consolidation and Sustainable Growth,” stands at ₦44,963,215,000.00 and is designed to deepen ongoing projects while opening new development fronts across all communities in the council.

According to the chairman, the budget places strong emphasis on infrastructure expansion, improved service delivery, and enhanced welfare for residents. Key sectors receiving major allocations include infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, social welfare, environmental management, administration, and security.

Hon. Oyeniyi disclosed that capital development takes the largest share of the expenditure plan, alongside personnel costs, overhead obligations and teachers’ fund responsibilities. He assured that the budget captures realistic strategies to consolidate existing achievements and accelerate growth across all wards.

On revenue expectations, he explained that projections are hinged on statutory allocations, FAAC support, VAT, excess crude earnings, and an improved strategy for boosting internally generated revenue (IGR).

“This budget reflects our intention to deliver more people-oriented programmes, complete ongoing projects, and introduce new initiatives that will directly impact livelihoods,” he said, adding that transparency and accountability remain the pillars of his administration.

He reaffirmed his commitment to serve with integrity, passion, and purpose, appreciating the people for their unwavering support.
