Hon. Shittu Olaitan Omo Abede has unveiled his campaign team for the Ogbomoso North State Constituency House of Assembly race, appointing Hon. Alhaji Raufu Akanji as Director-General to coordinate the campaign’s activities across the constituency.
The campaign structure comprises directors, coordinators and other officials assigned to various areas, including media and publicity, youth and student engagement, teachers’ affairs, women and market mobilisation, welfare, and community outreach.
Akanji, who will lead the campaign, is a two-time Vice Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government and a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly during the Third Republic.
Hon. Taofeek Oloruntoyin has been named Campaign Secretary, while Hon. Joshua Oladunni Oyedele will serve as Campaign Coordinator.
Oyedele is a former councillor representing Alasa Ward and was the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the 2024 Ogbomoso North Local Government election.
In the media and communications department, Mr. Tunji Alabi has been appointed Director of Media and Publicity, with Ogbeni Akanni Kabiru as Assistant Director. Mr. Akinola Olatunde Joseph will serve as the campaign spokesperson.
Mrs. Hamzat Tawakalitu will oversee teachers’ affairs and mobilisation, while Mrs. Eyitayo Felicia has been appointed Women Coordinator.
For market women mobilisation, Mrs. Kudirat Abdulwahab will serve as Director, with Mrs. Ige Mulikat Abidemi as Assistant Director.
Mrs. Odetunde Williams has been named Director of Welfare.
The campaign has also made provisions for engagement with the Hausa and Fulani communities, appointing Alhaji Muritala Abubakar as Coordinator and Alhaja Mariam Abdullahi as Assistant Coordinator.
Other members of the campaign team include Mr. Adewale Idowu Gabriel, Mrs. Esther Adisa, Mrs. Bimbo Akande, Mr. Lawal Asifa, Mr. Hammed Yusuf, Mr. Oyekale Tajudeen, Mr. Tijani Abdulrafiu, Mrs. Ogunleke Oluwayemisi, Mrs. Aishat Abdulateef and Mrs. Ademola Serah.
The appointments are expected to provide an organisational framework for the campaign’s engagement with residents, community groups, traders, students, teachers and other stakeholders across Ogbomoso North.
With the appointments, the campaign has outlined responsibilities for its various departments, covering publicity, grassroots coordination and engagement with different segments of the constituency.
The campaign’s stated objective is to communicate Omo Abede’s agenda and political position to the people of Ogbomoso North as he seeks election to the Oyo State House of Assembly.
