League of Imams and Alfas in Ogbomoso Land and Environs on Sunday 8th December honoured Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Alhaji Rasaki Gbadegesin Engr. Muftau Open Salawu and many others
The event which was part of the activities marking the 30th year anniversary of the association was held at eid praying ground , Sabo Ogbomoso
List of those turbaned and their title includes: Senator Ayoade Adeseun, (Akinkanju Adini) Engineer Open Salawu (Saraki Adini) , Alhaji Rasaq Gbadegesin(Alaranse Adini), Architect Shakiru Shuarau ( Osupa Adini, Mallam AK Bello( Seriki Adini) , Alhaji Sharafadeen Sharek Gold ( Akeweje Adini) Eng Abd Shittu ( Baba Adini) Abdulateef Abd Raheem ,Majeobaje Adini , Alhaja Mulikat Akande Adeola, ( Iya Sunat) Hajia Adunola Shittu (Iya Adini)
Over 23 Islamic scholars who are late were also given people Posthumous Award
Alhaji Muideen , the Chief Imam of Offa who was also the guest lecture in his lecture congratulated the awardee and urged them to be consistent and committed to Allah’s work and service to humanity.
“ Allah bestow everything, see whatever you have or your position as an opportunity given to you to serve him and help the needy, do your best in projecting and propagation of Islamic religion, it is an assignment that we must do
“ From what I have heard about all of you, I know you are all worthy of this honour and I know that this honour will propel you to do more and also encourage others.
While speaking on the award, the Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Alhaji Yekeen Ashafat noted that the awardees were selected due to their contributions to Islam and Ogbomoso land in general.
He also urged them to continue in this line with the mind that God will reward them abundantly as they give to those that need.
Also the chairman of the occasion,Senator Abdulfatai Buhari in his remark urged islamic scholars to always remind politicians and others to toe the path of honour and truth all time, “ Always tell us the truth, so that we won’t derail”.
In his remark, The Saraki Adini, Engineer Open Salawu while speaking with journalist thanked Almighty Allah for His blessings and guidance upon him. He also thanked the League of Imams and Alfas for considering him worthy of the title.
“I give thanks to Almighty Allah for His blessings and guidance in my life. I thank the League of Imans and Alfas in Ogbomoso for counting me worthy of this title. I pray Almighty Allah continue to be with everyone one of us.
“Let me also use this opportunity to thank friends, well-wishers, very importantly my family members and everyone here for felicitating with me. I’m very grateful. I wish everyone safe journey to their various destinations.
“To other people who were also title today, I say congratulations and pray for Allah’s blessings on every one of us” he said.
