Chairmen of local governments in Ogbomoso Zone, alongside security agencies, have held a strategic security meeting aimed at strengthening safety measures and addressing emerging security challenges in the area, particularly the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.

The meeting, which took place at Kinnira in the Ogbomoso North Local Government Secretariat, brought together the chairmen of Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Surulere, Ogo-Oluwa and Oriire local governments as well as representatives of various security agencies.
Speaking after the meeting, the Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade, said participants reviewed the security situation across the zone, identified vulnerable areas and discussed practical measures to enhance security and safeguard lives and property.
According to him, the safety and security of residents remain the top priority of all stakeholders, assuring the public that concerted efforts are being made to tackle security threats across the zone.
Ogunlade also reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde to securing the release of the abducted students and teachers, noting that government and security agencies are working round the clock to ensure their safe return.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies by reporting suspicious movements and activities within their communities.
On concerns surrounding Ayanyan Market, Ogunlade clarified that the market had not been officially shut down.
