A socio-cultural group, Ogbomoso First Community Initiatives (O’ First Group), has congratulated the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege 111 on his victory at the Court of Appeal, urging all aggrieved parties to embrace peace and unity for the progress of the city.

The appellate court, in its ruling on Tuesday, affirmed Oba Olaoye’s selection and installation as the rightful Soun of Ogbomosoland, putting an end to the legal contest over his ascension.

In a statement signed by its president, Sir Olusegun Adekunle, the group described the court ruling as a victory not only for the monarch but for all Ogbomoso indigenes and well-wishers who have been looking forward to a united and prosperous city.

“The judgment is a confirmation of due process and the will of the people. It is now time for all sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland to put differences aside and work together for the development of our great city,” the statement read.

O’ First Group also appealed to those who contested the selection process to accept the court’s decision in good faith and support the new monarch in his mission to transform Ogbomoso.

“We urge all parties to move beyond the past and contribute to the peace and progress of Ogbomosoland. Our collective efforts are crucial in building a stronger and more prosperous city,” the group added .
