The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has expressed confidence that the reign of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, will usher in a new era of progress and reposition the ancient city for greater development.
In a congratulatory message signed by its State President, Comrade Ayobami Olusegun Adeogun, the union described the ascension of Oba Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, as a blessing to Ibadanland and its people.
According to Adeogun, Oba Ladoja’s wealth of experience in governance, politics, and leadership uniquely positions him to bring about the needed transformation in Ibadan.
“Oba Ladoja is not just a custodian of culture and tradition but also a seasoned statesman whose depth of experience will undoubtedly reposition Ibadan for peace, prosperity, and sustainable development,” he stated.
The NULGE president added that traditional institutions play a vital role in grassroots governance and that the Olubadan’s reign would strengthen collaboration between traditional rulers and local government structures.
He assured the monarch of the union’s support and prayed for divine wisdom, long life, and strength for Oba Ladoja as he leads Ibadan into what he described as “a promising new chapter.”
