NNPCL Gives Update on Helicopter Crash

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company LTd. NNPCL has said that no additional bodies of the victims have been found apart from the three

Recalled that on 24 October 2023, a Helicopter with registration number 5NBQG, engaged by NNPC Limited, took off from Port Harcourt NAF Base en route the FPSO – NUIMS ANTAN crashed

The helicopter was operated by East Winds Aviation had 8 persons on board including 6 passengers and 2 crew members and three of them died .

Giving update on the development, the NNPCL chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi soneye in a statement said that beyond the three bodies found in the ill-fated helicopter operated by East Winds Aviation that crashed on Thursday in Port Harcourt, no other bodies have been recovered.

The Company further notes that intensified search and rescue
operations for the remaining bodies along with relevant authorities is still ongoing.
