The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Lagos State chapter, has distanced itself from viral claims circulating on social media regarding the use of Panadol and Septrin.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Adetunji Adenekan, and Secretary, Dr. (Mrs) Ime Okon, the association described the claims as “absolutely unverified” and dissociated its members from the alleged misinformation.
“The attention of the State Officers Committee (SOC) of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Lagos, has been drawn to some purported write-ups on Panadol and Septrin, with the culprits inserting the names of some of our members as originators of such frivolous posts,” the statement read.
The NMA Lagos reaffirmed its commitment to providing evidence-based medical information to the public while warning against the spread of unverified health claims.
It urged Nigerians to rely on credible sources for medical advice and assured continued efforts to educate the public on health-related matters.
