The new Olugbon of Orile Igbon Oba Francis Alao on Tuesday pay homage to the statue of Late premier of Western Region Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola in his Ogbomoso home
Oba Alao who left Ipebi in the morning was hosted at Akinbola family house where elders and some chiefs of the community had gathered to pray for his success on the throne.
At Akintola’s house in Oke Ado area of Ogbomoso, the new Olugbon who was accompaned with his wife and some elders visited the grave side and offered some prayers.
When asked why he visited the tomb, Oba Alao said ” I am here to pay obeisance to one of the great man from Orile Igbon,and oyo State”.
” After God, I have to acknowledge my ancestors and predecessors and those who have contributed in one way or the other to the development of Igbon community”.
He also promised to use his position as the new king to develop the historical community and his subjects.
The new Olugbon also promised to work with other contestants to the throne for the development of the community and with the Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi in promoting harmony and peaceful co-existence among the people.
