A member of the Federal House of Representative, Hon. Olatoye Temitope Sugar has described the death of nollywood actor, Prof. Adebayo Faleti has a great loss for Nigeria in area of art and culture.
Hon. Olatoye Sugar who is representing Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency said Faleti was one of nollywood’s most respected icon, fore-father, custodian of art and culture.
Hon. Sugar who received the news of Faleti death with shock adding that Nollywood has lost a great icon, legend and pillar.
He maintained that His great deeds and works will forever remain on the face of art and culture in Nigeria and the entire world at large.
Hon. Sugar however commiserate with the entire Faleti family, Oyo state and Nigeria in general.
Faleti died on the 22nd July 2017 at the University College hospital Ibadan at 86.
He was a Nigerian poet,  journalist,  writer and actor. He was also known as a Yoruba translator, a broadcaster, TV exponent and a pioneer of the first television station in Africa, Western Nigeria Television (WNTV).
He was responsible for translating Nigeria’s National Anthem from English to Yoruba.
He also translated speeches being made by military president of Nigeria Ibrahim babangida and Chief Ernest shonekan, Head of National Interim Government of Nigeria, from English to Yoruba.
