NCPC Boss Urges Christian Leaders To Embark on Massive Evangelism

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian pilgrim Commission, Rev. Tor Uja has urged the Church to aggressively embark on massive evangelism which is the strongest weapon they have after prayers.

He made this  during a courtesy visit on him by the Christian Leaders Consultative Forum Makurdi at the NCPC Corporate Headquarters on Thursday 8th August, 2019.

The NCPC boss further urged the Church to embark on advocacy as a spiritual power that stands to provide direction and guidance for the nation. According to him, “at this time of our national life the voice of the church must be heard and its works must be seen”. He admonished the church in Nigeria to provide and promote leadership by bring back teachings that would give a life of vision and focus to the nation.

Rev. Uja admonished church leaders to rise and provide a positive direction for the nation. In his words, “I urge the church to support the government and provide advancement to Nigeria and Nigerian”.

He intimated that the Commission is building a Pilgrims’ Heritage Camp which would comprise of 1500 capacity auditorium where all churches can carry out programmes and also a hotel where people can lodge during church programmes which would be given to Christians at a reduced rate.  Adding that all hands are on deck to ensure that the project is completed next year. According to him, “we are doing it for service and not for profit because we are not a commercial entity but a service driven body with the aim to serve Christians and not to make money from the church”.

The NCPC boss further intimated that Christian pilgrimage is not designed as a profit making venture but for all Christians in the country to enjoy. In his words, “whatever prices will set up for pilgrimage are the rock bottom, no profit is added to it”.

Rev. Uja thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his support to Christian pilgrimage by ensuring that pilgrimage is cost is effective for all Nigerians. He explained that the Federal government purchase drugs for pilgrims who would have health challenges while in the Holy Land and the drugs are administered by   Doctors Nurses and Pharmacist who accompanies the pilgrims on pilgrimage to ensure that the pilgrims are fine and to avoid zero mortality during pilgrimage.

He further explained that the Commission is earnestly promoting and projecting Nigeria through its pilgrimage programmes in order to enable Nigerians see the beauty and the potentials of this nation. According to him, “Nigeria is a more developed nation because God has given us a liberty and a people to serve, develop and lead”. “God has made every Nigeria a leader who ought to be proud of his heritage and what the nation has achieved”. He added.

He said the Commission ensures zero abscondment during pilgrimage through the screening of intending pilgrims in Nigeria to identify those who want to genuinely go on pilgrimage and those who want to abscond.

Speaking earlier the Chairman of the Christian Leaders Consultative Forum, Bishop Nathan Inyom, who is the Anglican Bishop of Makurdi thanked the NCPC boss for the warm reception given to him and his team. He informed that the Christian Leaders Consultative Forum is a non-denominational body that set up to bring together all Christian leaders in Benue State to fashion ways which advance the gospel and contribute to the general development of Benue State and the nation at large.

He urged the NCPC boss to help the Forum provide quality leadership and guidance that would impact on the lives of the Christians in the State.

The visiting team was made up of 12 clergies from different denomination in Benue State.
