A ministerial nominee, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has collapsed during screening on the floor of the Senate.

Lawal 65,  from Kaduba state collapsed immediately after introducing himself and one of the Senators from Kaduna was making his address

Abbas Lawal who served as secretary to the government under Governor Nasir El-Rufai, replaces El-Rufai in Tinubu’s cabinet

He was being screened alongside Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State and Mr Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.

Immediately, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio requested for water and sugar to be administered to the nominee

Abbas Lawal Balarabe who was born on February 5, 1958 (65 years), hails from Kachia Local Government, Kaduna State.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1978-1981).

He also holds an M.Sc in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1984-1986).
