City saw a £52million offer rejected by Wolves as he was absent from the squad that faced Everton.
Nunes, 25, is considered as a potential replacement for Kevin de Bruyne while he is injured for the remainder of the year.
The Athletic claimed that Nunes has stopped training with Wolves.It is suggested that he has “expressed his wishes” to join Manchester City.
However, it is reported that Wolves will not sell the midfielder unless the Citizens meet his valuation.
The Telegraph also claimed that Nunes will face disciplinary action from Wolves and be re-integrated into the team after the window shuts.
