Man Attacked for Evading Traditional Rites

A port Harcourt based businessman Adesola Ajani has been attacked by some hoodlums and his children taken from him in Rumuokoro area of portharcourt.

While narrating the story, Ajani who hails from a community in Iwajowa local government of oyo state told our correspondent how he escaped to portharcourt with his family in 2016 because he does not want his two sons (twins)to take part in the community traditional rites which according to him is cruel and barbaric.

He explains further that the rites is done yearly for every first son and that whoever does not allow his son to take part will be dealt with.

The man said he had been in portharcourt since 2016 before some youths from his community came to attack him recently in respect to eloping with his sons and wife.

He managed to escape again, sustaining injuries in the process,but this time, not with his wife and sons  as they were captured and  taken them to unknown destination

These hoodlums, he said are youths of the community and they serve as the judicial arm of the initiates that enforces the traditional rites.

The where about of his wife and sons is still unknown but he believes they would be taken back to the village.
