Oyo state governor Engoneer Oluseyi Makinde has said the ongoing 76.67km Ogbomoso – Iseyin Road
will be named after the late former governor of Oyo state Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala.

Otunba Adebayo Akala conceived the idea when he was the governor of tge state betweem 2007-2011 but he couldn’t implement it till his tenure lapsed

The project which ought to have been kicked off early this year was delayed due to the sudden demise of Otunba Alao Akala who was supposed to flag off the projects

Speaking at the flagging off ceremony in Ogbomoso, Makinde said he would
always honour his predecessors and elder statesmen who had contributed immensely to the growth and development of Oyo state at various time or the other.

Somebody would have been here today for this flag-off but God decided to call him before this date. I spoke to him and mentioned it to his church that day. This is someone, who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of Oyo State.

“The 76.67km, upon commissioning, will be named Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala Highway and we will put conspicuous signs every 10km from Ogbomoso to Iseyin that will show that this is Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala,” Makinde stated.
