The Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, has described Governor Seyi Makinde and the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye (Orumogege III), as true development gladiators committed to the economic transformation of Ogbomoso and Oyo State as a whole.
Speaking at the Ogbomoso Economic Summit and Exhibition held at the LAUTECH Great Hall, Oyelade, who represented Governor Makinde, said the summit marked a bold step toward achieving regional economic renaissance. He noted that Oba Olaoye’s passion for development aligns perfectly with the governor’s vision for inclusive growth across all zones of the state.
“The Soun’s modern ideas and zeal for strategic development resonate deeply with what Governor Makinde has been pursuing for nearly seven years — a mission driven by infrastructure renewal, youth empowerment, and agricultural expansion,” Oyelade said.
In his address, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye commended Governor Makinde for his visionary leadership and commitment to balanced development across Oyo State. The monarch described the governor as “a bridge-builder whose policies have continued to open new frontiers of growth and opportunity.”
Speaking on the theme “Unlocking the Economic Potential in Ogbomosoland,” the Soun said Ogbomoso is on the verge of a major economic transformation. He added that the foundation already laid by the Makinde administration has positioned the zone for industrial expansion, agricultural productivity, and youth empowerment.
Also speaking at the event, the Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, lauded Governor Makinde’s investor-friendly policies, noting that Oba Ghandi’s developmental strategy would thrive seamlessly in the enabling environment the state government has created.
The summit drew eminent scholars, industrialists, and top government functionaries, including the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Mr. Niyi Adebisi, and the Director-General of the Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency, Mr. Ope Salawu.
The event underscored the shared commitment of both the Oyo State Government and the Soun of Ogbomosoland to accelerate economic development and unlock the vast potential of the region.
