Oyo State Governor Engineer Oluseyi Makinfr today presented his first budget as the Executive governor of the state

The Budget Proposal for the 2020 Fiscal Year which was presented to the Oyo State House of Assembly members  is N208,802,972,878 Billion

He said his target is to achieve at least 70% budget implementation.

Makinde maintainee that the budget proposal captures the aspirations of t he good people of Oyo State.” A budget that every woman, man, and child in Oyo State can relate to and be proud of. A budget in keeping with our Roadmap for Accelerated Development in Oyo State 2019-2023.”

In the budget ,Infrastructure has the highest percentage allocation with 23.93% of the total sum allocated while Education comes a close with a total allocation of 22.37% of the budget.

Healthcare takes 5.18% and Agriculture takes 4.43% of the total budget proposal

“The personnel cost down by over 10% compared to the 2019 budget, while Capital expenditure increased by about 20% compared to the 2019 budget. Total capital expenditure of N100.14 Billion, is 47.9% of the total budget estimate.

Hon. Bimbo Olawumi Oladeji representing Ogbomosho North, Hon. Bamidele Adeola representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape representing Atiba and other lawmakers in their separate remarks commended the governor of Oyo state for putting up such a ‘realistic budget of the masses’.

Honourable representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju state constituency, Hon. Bamidele Adeola however seeks the indulgence of the house to give the proposed budget an accelerative passage after it should have been duly assessed.

Minority leader and Honourable representing Atiba state constituency, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape maintained that the proposed budget demonstrates the simplicity Gov. Seyi Makinde is known for.

Reacting to the huge provision allocated to the educational sector, Hon. Femi Oluwafowokanmi expressed his joy for new development.

The honourable who doubles as the Chairman House committee on Education matters, appreciate the governor for meeting the educational standard basis set by the United Nations Education Children Organization (UNESCO).

Speaker of the 9th assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin while giving his reaction regarded the budget as a remarkable one that marks the maiden budget presentation since the emergence of the government in the state.

Ogundoyin added that Gov. Seyi Makinde is magnanimous towards achieving a better life for the people of Oyo state.

He significantly applauded the action of the governor for running an all-inclusive governance by taken the budget town hall hearing to the 3 senatorial zones in Oyo state to feel the people’s impulse.
