Special Adviser to the oyo state Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ademola Ige has said that with the measures being put in place by the Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde to tackle insecurity in the State, the Governor has made the state to become attractive to investors and foreigners who are already shown interest to invest and living in the State.
Hon. Ige stated this while speaking on the outcome of the security and economic meeting convened by Pan Yorubaland Congress committee which was held at Mapo hall, Ibadan and attended by the Governor and relevant stakeholders at Mapo hall recently.
Hon. Ige said that the fact that the Governor personally attended the summit despite his tight schedule has shown that he was committed to ensuring that residents of the state sleep with their two eyes closed and go about their lawful businesses without let or hindrance from anybody.
He said that from all indications, the security architecture put in place by the Governor is the best so far in the entire South West zone which will already reducing the menace of insecurity and other forms of crime in the State, stressing that the Aare Ona Kakanfo, Iba Gani Adams equally commended the Governor for this measure when he had a private meeting with the Governor on Wednesday and Thursday.
Hon. Ige who is also the Baameto Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland stressed the important of all relevant local security outfits like hunters, OPC members, Agbekoya members and vigilante and Majiyagbe groups to come together and complement the effort of the government in the area of effective security of oyo state, adding that the issue of security needs a collective efforts.
On the ongoing projects embarked upon by the administration of Seyi Makinde, Hon. Ige stated that he was happy that those projects are already attracting and causing influx of people from other states to Oyo especially Ibadan as many new businesses are now being opened up by business men while others come to relax and spend their weekend in the State.
Hon Ige pointed out that the circular road project currently going on, will reduce the hours being spent by travellers passing through Ibadan express to Lagos state.
He added that by the time the governor commences the commissioning of all these projects embarked upon that are so massive, it will continue till the year 2023.
Hon Ige hinted that all these projects are making Oyo State to becoming a hub of hospitality and pride to every citizen of the state in less than two years of Gov. Seyi Makinde administration.
He further added that all these achievements are already attracting meaningful people to come and join PDP as recently witnessed when the Chairman and members of ZLP in the State and Commissioner for Lands, Barrister Abdulraman Raheem who is a nominee of former Senator Rashidi Ladoja defected to PDP.
While congratulating Barrister Abdulraman Raheem for joining the PDP, Hon. Ige stated that the task of rescuing Nigerians from the plight currently being experienced under the APC administration has started with the nomination of Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja to contest as the National Vice Chairman, South West zone by Gov. Makinde, which he said has wide political experience to deliver South West back to PDP in 2023.
