Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of a former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Saheed Akinade Fijabi, as Chairman of the Oyo State at 50 Anniversary Committee.
The governor announced the constitution of the 11-member committee in a letter signed by his Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, on Monday.
According to the statement, the committee is saddled with the responsibility of planning and coordinating activities to mark the golden jubilee celebration of Oyo State.
Other members of the committee include a former Head of Service of the state, Alhaja Ololade Agboola, who will serve as Deputy Chairman; Dr. Z.O. Ajuwon, OON; Mustapha Razaq Areo; Alhaja Fatimah Ololade Azeez; S.A. Adejumo; and Pastor John Olasunkanmi Alabi.
Also appointed are Alhaji A.K. Bello; Mrs. Ronke Adedayo, who will serve as Secretary; retired Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni; and the Director-General of Protocol, Mr. Samuel Adegboyega Badejo.
The appointment, the statement added, takes immediate effect.
