The Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Oyo state in Thursday presented party flag to all the local government chairmanships candidates in the zone
Apart from presentation of flags, the party also officially flagg off campaign for the candidates ahead of April 27 local government election in the state
The event was held at Ajaawa in Ogo Oluwa local government for the Surulere /Ogo Oluwa federal constituency and Oja’gbo Ogbomoso for Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire Federal constituency
The chairmanship candidates across the five local government areas in Ogbomoso zone who received the party’s nod to represent the party in the April 27th local government election are:
Ogbomoso North Local Government
• Hon. George Ogunlade – chairmanship candidate
• Hon. Taofeek Salawu – vice chairmanship candidate
Ogbomoso South Local Government
• Hon. Oyeniyi Oyedokun Timothy – Chairmanship Candidate
• Hon (Mrs) Kareem Mujidat – vice chairmanship candidate
Oriire Local Government
• Hon. Alabi Olateju Michael – chairmanship candidate
• Hon. (Mrs) Lydia Bankole – vice chairmanship candidate
Ogo-Oluwa Local Government
• Hon Seun Abisoye Ojo – chairmanship candidate
Hon. Ajala Abraham Onaolapo – vice chairmanship candidate
Surulere Local Government
• Hon Adegbite Isaiah Alaba – chairmanship candidate
• Hon (Miss) Adeyinka Barakat Adeola – vice chairmanship candidate
The secretary of the Party in the State Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke while addressing the gathering enjoined the people to troop out in their large numbers on April 27th to cast their votes for the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party in all the local governments as they have done today at the campaign grounds.
Describing the opposition as noisemakers who have nothing to offer the people except noise, he also charged chairmanship, vice chairmanship and the councillorship candidates to run an all-inclusive government to ensure people get dividends of democracy
A party leader,Dr Saka Adegbite Balogun appealed to all party members to keep faith with the party as everyone will be compensated when the time is right.
Also, the Chief of Staff to Governor Makinde, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, described the claims of the opposition that the local government election will be rigged by the PDP led State Government as baseless and groundless.
He said a party which is campaigning from one ward to the other, expending so much human and financial resources this much could not be compared to the opposition which has not been seen campaigning.
However, he commended the people of Ogbomoso for coming out in their large numbers to support their candidates, he further enjoined them to return to their polling units to start massive mobilisation of support for all the PDP candidates in the forthcoming election.
Hon. Rasaq Gbadegesin, addressing the crowd implored party members and the people of Ogbomoso to vote for all the candidates in the April 27th as the Governor Makinde led Oyo State Government has shown clearly that the PDP is the party that has the interest of the people at heart.
The state campaign team led by the vice chairman of the party, Hon. James Olukunle and the Director General of the election management committee, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke; other members of the state working committee who were at the program includes Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi, Hon. Dayo Opatokun , Hon. Micheal Ogunsina, Hon. Taiwo Alagbe, Mrs. Doja Agbejimi, Hon. Akinboro Akinsola ,Hon. Saka Moshood (S.S.A OYSIEC) and host of others.
Other party presents at the campaign includes Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye (Commissioner for Agriculture & Rural Development) , Hon. Sunday Makanjuola Ojo (Member, Federal House Representative, Surulere/Ogo-oluwa federal constituency), Chief Saka Balogun (chairman, Oyo state elder council), Prince Dotun Oyelade (Commissioner for information) , Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin (Majority Leader, Oyo State House of Assembly) , Hon. Abideen Adeoye ( member OYHA Ogo-oluwa/Surulere state constituency), Hon. Ogundele Johnson (member OYHA Oriire state constituency).
