Success is often measured not just by achievements but by the ability to weather challenges and emerge stronger. For Lawal Abass Oyebade, popularly known as Slim, resilience and determination have been the driving forces behind his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a respected entrepreneur and political figure.

Hailing from Idewure in Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area, Slim embodies the proverbial cat with nine lives—undaunted by setbacks and persistent in his pursuit of excellence. His story is one of grit, enterprise, and a deep commitment to social impact.

A graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Slim has not only mastered his field but has also diversified into multiple ventures. His entrepreneurial spirit spans across painting, electrical installation, solar energy solutions, construction, and manufacturing. Despite his success, he maintains a humble and unassuming lifestyle, preferring to focus on his work rather than flaunt affluence.

His business acumen has enabled him to create jobs and provide opportunities for many young people in his community. Slim’s philosophy is simple—hard work, integrity, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities.

Beyond entrepreneurship, Slim harbors a deep passion for public service. This drive led him to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), seeking to represent his constituents at the Oyo State House of Assembly. Although the political system did not favor his candidacy, he remained steadfast in his commitment to serving the people. Instead of retreating, he doubled down on his efforts, actively supporting the party and championing initiatives that uplift his community.

His political ambition is not driven by personal gain but by a desire to bring about positive change. He believes that leadership is about service, and he continues to be a strong voice for the people, advocating for their needs and welfare.

Slim’s impact extends beyond business and politics. Through his non-governmental organization, Lawal Abass Against Marginality and Poverty (LAMP), he has transformed countless lives. His NGO focuses on providing moral and financial support to youths and the elderly while also contributing to infrastructural development within his constituency.

Under LAMP, Slim has initiated several empowerment programs, including skill acquisition workshops, scholarships, and community development projects. His philanthropic efforts reflect his belief that true leadership is about giving back and ensuring that no one is left behind.

Despite the hurdles along the way, Slim remains undeterred. His journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and the impact one individual can make when driven by purpose. Whether in business, politics, or community service, he continues to inspire many with his unwavering commitment to progress.

Lawal Abass Slim is not just a name; he is a symbol of resilience, determination, and selfless service—a man who refuses to be defined by limitations but instead shapes his own path to success. As he continues his journey, one thing is certain: his story is far from over, and the best is yet to come.
