The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has announced that it has commenced an official investigation into a physical assault involving one of its security personnel and a student, an incident captured in a video currently circulating on social media.

In a statement issued by the Office of the Registrar on Thursday, the university confirmed that the incident took place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the 1,500-capacity Lecture Theatre of the Pre-Degree Science Complex.

Registrar Mrs. Olayinka O. Balogun described the video as “disturbing” and assured the university community and the general public that management is treating the matter with the utmost seriousness. She stated that disciplinary measures would be taken in accordance with the institution’s policies and regulations once the investigation is concluded.
