Delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Bauchi State on Saturday caused a stir at the Ibadan venue of the 2025 PDP National Convention as they openly declared support for the return of former President Goodluck Jonathan to the nation’s top seat.

The delegates, who arrived in large numbers, moved around the convention grounds chanting solidarity songs and displaying banners urging the former president to recontest in the 2027 election.

Speaking to journalists, the spokesperson for the Bauchi delegation said their mission was twofold—participation in the national convention and mobilization for Jonathan’s return.

“We are here for the National Convention and to also promote the ambition of our principal, Former President Goodluck Jonathan. We want him to come back. His coming back will help Nigeria,” the spokesperson stated.

He added that Jonathan’s leadership style, commitment to national unity, and democratic values remain unmatched, noting that many Nigerians still believe he is best positioned to steer the country toward stability and progress.

The PDP National Convention continues in Ibadan with delegates from across the country participating in activities aimed at repositioning the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
