SOME alleged land grabbers at Ponbiti Village, Olorunda Aba in Lagelu Local Government area of Oyo State have resisted the execution of a court judgment which granted the rightful owner access to a disputed land.
Though, the judgment by a Customary Court was supported by a writ of possession and a request for armed security men to enforce the court judgment, the land grabbers reportedly resisted the security men.
While speaking with newsmen in Ibadan on Tuesday, the rightful owner of the parcel of land, Oba Nureni Akintola Lasisi said some bandits were on the land insisting that he paid damages for the demolished illegal structures on the land.
When asked if he could identify the bandits, he said some faces were not familiar to him asking the State Commissioner of Police to help him execute the court judgment.
“When we got the judgment against the land our opponents, we mobilized security men to the site and ensured that illegal structures on the land were demolished.”
“After the demolition, some bandits appeared later to insist that damages must be paid on the structures which they had erected illegally on the land.”
Brandishing the judgment marked I/143/2015 between King Nureni Akintola Lasisi & 1 other and Chief Lateef Ajao Durotade&2others, in which the court said, “the court having weighed through the evidence before this court, the court believes that the plaintiff is the rightful owner of the land and it is hereby granted accordingly”.
“The allegation of trespassing I to his land was also established during the inspection and court also restrains and orders the defendant, his servants, agents or anybody to henceforth stop disturbing the plaintiff or his purchasers on the land”.
