Lamiju Akala Reacts to Suspension Notice as APC Suspends Him, Others

Olamiju Alao -Akala, the executive chairman of Ogbomoso North local government area of Oyo state has described his suspension by four of the eight councilor in the council as a kangaroo and illegal move.

Four councilors today resolve to suspend of the council chairman at their plenary today.

Speaking with National Insight on Phone, Olamiju said, they don’t have the power to suspend him and that he would continue to function as the duly elected chairman of the local government.

It would be recalled that Lamiju and some of the councilors in Ogbomoso North decamped to Action Democratic Party ADP last week Thursday in Ogbomoso.

In another development , another set of four councilors has passed a vote of confidence on Olamiju Also Akala and announced the suspension of the four lawmaker that suspended Lamiju.

Led by Oladele Sunday Abiodun, who claims to be the leader of the legislative council and three others, they also passed a vote of no confidence in Olamiju’s deputy, Hon. Abass Bello Bayewuwon and the deputy leader, Hon. Adebowale Oyejoke Oladunmomi got breaching the local government laws.

Meanwhile the Chairman of All Progressives congress APC in Ogbomoso north local government, Alhaji Bukola Badmus has said the Olamiju Akala and 8 other councilors have been suspended from the party

Badmus told National Insight that they were suspended for anti party activities.

According to the suspension letter signed by Badmus, the suspended lawmakers includes Alagbe Dunmade, Olawuyi Felicia Olutayo, Akande Isaiah, Sunday Abiodun, Yusufu Nurudeen, Adekunle Jonathan, Olabode Abiola and Salawudeen Muhammed.

He explained that ” They were elected on the platform of APC but they have been working for ADP, they cannot be robbing peter to pay paul, He concluded.

Speaking on the chances of APC winning election in Ogbomoso, Badmus said “Ogbomoso people have realized that being in opposition won’t help us as, they will vote for APC and we will win all  elective position in the coming election.”
