As the paramount ruler of Ibadanland Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji celebrates his 90th birthday, a table-tennis competition would be held in at Obafemi Awolowo Statdium Ibadan as part of activities marking
the one-week celebration.
The amateur table-tennis challenge is scheduled to commence on Friday
and end on Saturday according to Tokunbo Ladipo of TKO Sport who is organizing the sports program at the indoor squash hall of Kayrom Lee Gym and Fitness Center inside the former Liberty Stadium, the firm
that powered the event.
The Chief Executive Officer of Kayrom Lee, Ambassador Romoke Ayinde expressed her delight to bankroll the event while speaking to newsmen in Ibadan, saying the monarch has demonstrated his interest to
encourage grassroots sports “which is the core value of Kayrom Lee
principle”.
She added that “exciting prices and souvenirs are in place to participants and eventual winners of the tournament while refreshments would also be provided for spectators that come to watch the
table-tennis event”.
“The Ibadan based popular fuji act, Taye Akande Adebisi popularly known as ‘Currency’ would also confront a sports broadcaster Sola Ayegbajeje would also feature during the tournament”, Amb. Ayinde noted.
