Igbinedion Showers Encomiums on Buratai,Salutes Emir of Biu for Fostering  Unity of Nigeria

The Esama of Benin, His Excellency, Chief Dr Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion CFR has shower encomiums and salutations on Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff (COAS, Nigerian Army) and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Ambassador (Lt General Rtd) Tukur Buratai CFR, for his various selfless services to the Nigerian nation and to the Nigerian Army.

He started that history and posterity will always be kind to General Buratai, as a General, a Diplomat and a former COAS who is highly patriotic and who always put the Interest of Nigeria above any other considerations.

Chief Igbinedion also lauded the choice of Ambassador Tukur Buratai CFR for the Honorary Doctorate Degree of Igbinedion University, he said the choice of Ambassador Tukur Buratai is apt, and fundamental, considering the various accomplishment of Ambassador Buratai, both in Nigeria and in the international community.

Chief Gabriel Igbinedion made this statement on Friday, 24th November 2023 when the Emir of Biu, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr Mustafa Umar Mustafa 11, CON, who is Benin to attend the 21ST Convocation Ceremonies of the Igbinedion University where the Award of Honorary Doctorate Degree will be conferred on Ambassador Tukur Buratai.

The Emir who led an array of eminent Nigerians, which included, Ambassador Tukur Buratai CFR the Betera of Biu, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu, the Vice President of the Biu Emirate Council, Alhaji Adamu Madu, Alhaji Ibrahim Brima, Rear Admiral Adamu Biu OFR, the Shettima of Biu, the Regent of Oka Akoko, in Ondo State, Regent Adekanmi Omorinbola, Major General Joel Unigbe Rtd, Brigadier General SK Usman Rtd, The Brigade Commander 4TH Brigade, General Ndahi, Colonel Emmanuel Adegbola, Comrade Oladimeji Odeyemi, Mr Femi Oyewale, and so many others on a courtesy visit to the Esama of Benin.

Ambassador Tukur Buratai CFR equally used the occasion of the visit to salute the Patriotism of the Esama of Benin, and to equally appreciate the honor been done to him by the Igbinedion university.

Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu, who is the Vice President of the Biu Emirate Council who spoke on behalf of the Emir of Biu, equally eulogize the Esama of Benin as a role model and a highly detrabalise elder statesman.

The climax of the courtesy visit was the exchange of gifts by the Esama of Benin and the Emir of Biu.
