In response to misleading reports circulating in the media, the management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has issued a public announcement to clarify claims of a mass dismissal affecting 3,000 employees.

IBEDC categorically denies the false claim, stating that it is entirely inaccurate. The company has emphasized that its workforce comprises approximately 2,500 employees, making it impossible for them to have terminated more employees than the total staff strength.

The company further explained that if such a significant number of terminations had occurred, IBEDC would have been unable to continue operations or maintain its service commitments to customers across its franchise.

IBEDC condemned the ongoing narrative that seeks to wrongfully associate the company with issues related to another entity and its workforce. The management reassured the public and stakeholders that the company remains committed to ethical business practices, transparency, and the highest standards of service.

IBEDC has urged the public and journalists to verify information before disseminating it, to avoid spreading misinformation.

The company concludes by reaffirming its dedication to responsible corporate conduct and the continuous provision of quality service to its customers.
